A dissection can be a fun and exciting way for your children to learn more about the structure and function of the various tissues and organs of animals. But we should warn you that the tools used are sharp and can be dangerous. Be sure to help your children learn by helping them handle sharp tools and by making the incisions yourself if your children are small. Make sure all dissections are performed in a well ventilated room - the animal preservative can be quite irritating. And make sure everybody washes their hands and the dissection tools after handling the specimen, to remove all the preservative used.
